About the book

The Russian hacker Nikodim Pankratov, living in the United States, is divorcing his wife. Against a court order he plans to take his young son with him to Russia, paying off his ex-wife. But the woman demands compensation Pankratov cannot afford. Embittered at his wife, and even more at American justice, Nikodim devises and successfully carries out a plan of revenge. He breaks into the database of the largest American bank, Imperial, and begins methodically withdrawing money from its accounts. Security tries to identify the audacious hacker, without success. The bank's management panics: if they fail to stop the hacker before the New York Stock Exchange opens, the bank's shares will collapse and trigger a global financial crisis. Only four days remain until the market opens…
