About the book

In the height of the New Year holidays the body of a young girl, Larisa Beketova, with signs of violence on it, was found in Izmailovsky Park. The journalist Aristarkh Rusakov, who already had more than one solved murder behind him, went to the scene of the crime. He found out that Larisa worked at the cafe Berlog, located not far from the scene. One of the cafe's employees told Rusakov that Larisa had been seeing a young man who, as it turned out, was the brother of a well-known Moscow crime boss... The fragile construction of the crime had already begun to take shape when it suddenly collapsed in an instant: walking along the frozen paths around the terrible place, Aristarkh suddenly smelled something he could not mistake for anything else: the smell of a dwelling and of stove smoke, and this in the deepest wilds of a snow-buried forest park!
